7.0 Template Guide: Page Title & Description Display Rules

The following information details how page titles and descriptions are displayed across various templates in version 7.0 and 7.1.

Version 7.1 Specifications:

  • Page descriptions cannot be added
  • Page titles can be added and edited
  • Titles appear in browser tabs and search results (if no SEO title exists)
  • Shop pages can display titles above category navigation
  • For other pages, add a block section with text block for titles/descriptions

Template Display Guide:

Adirondack:

  • Displays below banner image on events, product, and layout pages

Avenue:

  • Shows on gallery pages opened from index
  • Navigation titles appear below thumbnails on index entry pages

Bedford:

  • Titles not displayed
  • Descriptions overlay banner images on layout pages
  • Slideshow banners use image descriptions as overlay text

Brine & Farro:

  • Neither titles nor descriptions displayed

Five:

  • Overlays banners (except album pages)
  • Not visible on smartphones

Momentum:

  • Displays on layout, product, blog, and events pages
  • Shows within index

Montauk:

  • Titles show on gallery pages
  • Descriptions overlay banner images for blog, events, index, and layout pages
  • Banner descriptions hidden on mobile

Pacific:

  • Appears above banner images for album, blog, events, gallery, product, and layout pages
  • Not shown in index sections

York:

  • Titles appear at page top
  • Navigation titles display on index banners

Editing Instructions:

  1. Open "Pages" menu
  2. Hover over page title and click to open settings
  3. Update title/description in General tab

Hiding Options:

  • Delete description text in General tab
  • Use template-specific customizations where available
  • Available in: Adirondack, Five, Momentum, Montauk, Pacific, Tremont, York

Alternative Display Methods:

  • Add layout page with custom header text
  • Use individual page headers where supported
  • Add content section at top of stacked index pages

SEO Note:

  • SEO titles/descriptions are separate and don't display on website
  • Add SEO elements in page settings' SEO tab
  • Useful for different search result display text
