How to Find Your Email Provider: A Step-by-Step Guide
Before you check your MX records, look at your email address. If it ends with @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, or similar, that company is your provider. For custom email addresses (like @yourcompany.com), follow these steps to find your provider:
Check for Google Workspace in Squarespace
- Open your Squarespace Google Workspace panel
- If you see email addresses listed, Squarespace manages your Google Workspace account
- If you see "Select a plan," you don't have an active account
Find Your MX Records For Squarespace domains:
- Go to domains dashboard
- Click your domain
- Select DNS settings
- Look for MX records in Custom Records
- The provider name appears at the end of the Data record (e.g., google.com)
For third-party domains:
- Log into your domain host account
- Find DNS settings
- Locate MX records
- Note the domain name at the end of records
Still Can't Find Your Provider?
- Check bank statements for email service charges
- Contact your domain host for help
- Review your DNS records
Once you know your provider, you can:
- Use your custom email with Squarespace
- Transfer email services
- Connect domains while keeping existing email
- Set up new Google Workspace accounts
Remember: Knowing your email provider is essential for domain transfers, email setup, and service migrations.
