
How to Restore Deleted Pages & Blog Posts in Squarespace: 30-Day Recovery Guide
When you delete pages or blog posts from your site, you have a 30-day window to restore them. After this period, deletions become permanent.
Restoring Pages
- Open the Pages panel
- Click "Trash" at the bottom
- Hover over the page title and select "Restore"
- Confirm restoration
- Find restored page in "Not linked" section
Restoring Blog Posts (Version 7.1)
- Open Pages panel
- Click the relevant blog page
- Select "Recycle Bin"
- Click "..." next to the post and choose "Restore"
- Confirm restoration
For multiple posts: Check boxes next to posts and click "Restore"
Restoring Blog Posts (Version 7.0)
- Open Pages panel
- Select blog page
- Click trash can icon
- Hover over post and click "Restore"
- Confirm restoration
Republishing Restored Posts
Restored posts return as drafts. To republish:
Version 7.1:
- Click post in side panel
- Click Edit in preview
- Make changes and click Publish
Version 7.0:
- Hover over post and click Edit
- Make changes and click Save & Publish
Non-Recoverable Content
These items cannot be restored once deleted:
- Text (after closing editor)
- Blocks (after closing editor)
- Most collection items (except blog posts)
- Page sections
- Pages/posts deleted over 30 days ago
- Member sites
- Code from blocks, injection panel, or custom CSS panel
Best Practices
- Always backup custom code externally
- Use undo/redo while editor is still open
- Consider carefully before deleting collection items
- Remember the 30-day restoration window
Note: When restoring pages with code blocks, the associated code will also be restored.
