Background videos allow you to add dynamic visual effects to your site's content. Here's how to effectively use them:

Requirements & Limitations:

  • Videos can be added from YouTube, Vimeo, or uploaded directly
  • Maximum length: 60 seconds for uploaded videos (no limit for embedded)
  • Recommended resolution: 1080p with 3+ Mbps bitrate
  • Frame rate: 60fps ideal, especially for slow motion
  • Videos play silently and loop automatically

Design Best Practices:

  • Keep videos under 40 seconds for optimal loading
  • Use landscape aspect ratio (16:9) to minimize cropping
  • Center main subjects with safe cropping zones
  • Limit to 2 background videos per page for faster loading
  • Avoid flashy transitions and excessive movement
  • Adjust font colors to contrast with video content

Adding a Background Video:

  1. Prepare Your Video:
  • Upload to YouTube/Vimeo or prepare file for direct upload
  • Ensure proper privacy settings (Public or Unlisted)
  • Enable embedding if using external platforms
  1. Add the Video:
  • Go to page section settings
  • Click Background > Video
  • Choose video source (Upload, Library, or URL)
  • Adjust width (Full Page or Inset)
  • Add filters and adjust playback speed if desired
  1. Mobile Optimization:
  • Add a mobile fallback image
  • Format image for web display
  • Apply matching filters to maintain consistency

Key Considerations:

  • Videos may not play on mobile devices with low bandwidth
  • Quality depends on visitor's internet connection
  • Devices in power-saving mode will display fallback image
  • Some templates have specific banner video compatibility
  • Maximum video storage: 30 minutes per site

Disable or delete background videos by switching to image background or removing content entirely in your section settings.
