Search keywords analysis helps you understand which phrases bring visitors to your site through search engines. This data allows you to optimize your content and improve visibility.

Google Search Keywords

To view Google search data:

• Access Analytics > Traffic > Search Keywords
• Select between Google or Other search engines tab
• Choose your preferred date range (data available from January 2014)
• Verify your site in Google Search Console (wait 72 hours for data)

Key Performance Indicators:

• Total Clicks: Number of clicks from specific keyword searches
• Total Impressions: Times your site appeared in search results
• Average Click-Through Rate: (Total Clicks ÷ Total Impressions) x 100
• Average Position: Mean position in search results for keywords

The Keyword Table shows:

• Search Keywords
• Total Clicks (with percentage of total)
• Impressions
• Click-Through Rate
• Average Position

Other Search Engines

The Other Search Engines tab displays data from platforms like Bing and DuckDuckGo, showing:

• Keyword frequency counts
• Multiple search engine sources (indicated by arrows)
• "Not specified" for hidden search activities
• Searches up to 80 characters

Using Search Keyword Data:

1. Identify Improvement Opportunities:

• Monitor keywords with high impressions but low click-through rates
• Focus on improving average positions
• Optimize content using popular search terms

2. Content Optimization:

• Align product descriptions with common search terms
• Include relevant keywords in site content
• Connect visitor search intent with your offerings

3. Additional Steps:

• Verify your site with multiple search engines
• Regularly monitor keyword performance
• Update content based on search trends
