To update your billing information in Squarespace, follow these simple steps to ensure uninterrupted service for your subscriptions.

Important Notes Before Updating

  • All subscriptions auto-renew using the registered payment method
  • Each website has its own payment method
  • Connected domains have separate billing settings
  • Payment may include U.S. sales tax, VAT, or GST based on your billing address

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Credit/debit cards
  • SEPA direct debit (EUR only)
  • PayPal (with some currency restrictions)

How to Update Your Payment Method

  1. Access Billing Settings:
  • For websites: Go to Payment Information panel
  • For standalone domains: Access Domains panel > Select domain > Billing
  1. Update Information:
  • Enter/update billing address
  • Select payment method
  • Fill in payment details
  • Enter company name in Cardholder Name field if needed for invoices
  • Click Save

Special Considerations

Currency Restrictions:

  • PayPal unavailable for U.S. residents using certain currencies (BRL, COP, IDR, MXN, MYR, NZD, ZAR)
  • SEPA only available for EUR payments from SEPA-area banks

For Expired Services:

  • Websites: New payment method will automatically process overdue payments
  • Domains: Manually reactivate within grace period
  • Google Workspace: Reactivate manually after suspension

Troubleshooting

  • For declined cards, verify details with your bank
  • Cannot change payment method after transaction completion
  • Contact support to remove payment methods
  • EEA customers may need to authorize new card charges

Remember: You cannot remove a payment method without replacing it with another. Contact customer support if you need to delete billing information completely.
