DNS Connect allows you to link your Bluehost domain to your Squarespace site. Here's how to set it up:

Start the Connection in Squarespace

1. Go to Domains panel > Use a Domain You Own
2. Enter your domain name and click the arrow
3. Click Connect Domain
4. Select Bluehost from the dropdown
5. Click Connect Domain and Continue
6. Keep the DNS settings panel open for reference

Configure Bluehost DNS Settings

1. Log into your Bluehost account
2. Navigate to Domains > Advanced Tools > Manage Advanced DNS Records
3. Click Continue

Add Required DNS Records

First CNAME Record:

• Type: CNAME
• Host: [unique code from Squarespace]
• Points to: verify.squarespace.com

Second CNAME Record:

• Type: CNAME
• Host: www
• Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com

Four A Records: Create separate A records with @ as the host, pointing to:

• 198.185.159.144
• 198.185.159.145
• 198.49.23.144
• 198.49.23.145

Important Notes:

• Keep existing mail/email records to maintain email service
• Allow 24-72 hours for the connection to complete
• Monitor connection status in Squarespace's Domains panel
• Green labels indicate successful connection

Troubleshooting

If you see "Domain ownership cannot be verified" after 72 hours:

1. Use the DNS verification tool in Settings
2. Check CNAME and A Records
3. Contact Bluehost support for additional assistance

Keep existing TTL settings at default values throughout the process.
