Connect your Strato domain to Squarespace by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Start the Connection in Squarespace

1. Go to Domains panel
2. Click "Use a domain you own"
3. Enter your domain name
4. Click "Connect domain"
5. Select "Other" from the dropdown
6. Click "Connect domain" again and "Continue"
7. Keep the DNS Settings panel open for reference

Step 2: Access Strato DNS Settings

1. Log in to www.strato.com
2. Find your domain and click "Manage domain"
3. Navigate to "DNS" then "Domain Management"

Step 3: Add First CNAME Record

1. In Strato's TXT and CNAME Records section:

• Type: CNAME
• Prefix: [Copy unique code from Squarespace]
• Value: verify.squarespace.com
• SPF Rule: No SPF rule

2. Click "Apply settings"

Step 4: Add Second CNAME Record

1. Create another CNAME record:

• Type: CNAME
• Prefix: www
• Value: ext-cust.squarespace.com
• SPF Rule: No SPF rule

2. Click "Apply settings"

Step 5: Add A Record

1. Go to A Record section
2. Click "Manage"
3. Select "Own IP Address"
4. Enter: 198.185.159.144
5. Click "Apply settings"

Note: Remove any existing A Records except those for mail/email services.

Step 6: Wait for Connection

• Allow 24-72 hours for full connection
• Check progress in Squarespace DNS settings
• Green tags indicate successful connection

Troubleshooting:

• Use DNS checker tool if "Cannot verify domain ownership" appears
• Contact Strato support for account-specific issues
• Wait full 72 hours before troubleshooting errors

Remember: Keep existing email-related records (Mail/Email hosts) to maintain email service functionality.
