Finding Static URLs

• Right-click images to open in new tab and view URL
• Look for URLs starting with:
  • images.squarespace-cdn.com
  • static.squarespace.com
  • static1.squarespace.com
• URL format includes size indicator (e.g., format=1000w)

Deleting Files and URLs

• Images/videos can be deleted immediately via asset library
• Automatic deletion process takes 8-38 days
• Deleted page content remains in trash for 30 days
• Files remain temporarily accessible via direct URL until complete removal

Expedited Removal Process

1. Delete all instances of the file from your site
2. Empty site trash if applicable
3. Contact Squarespace support with:
   • Subject: "Static URL removal request"
   • Domain name
   • Specific static URLs for removal

Important Notes

• Removal timing varies based on CDN factors
• Previously indexed URLs may remain in search results
• Cached versions may be temporarily accessible
• Consider requesting search engine re-indexing for faster removal

Post-removal, search engines may continue displaying static URLs until re-indexing occurs. For Google specifically, you can request re-indexing to expedite removal from search results.
