Facebook posts appear incorrectly or don't show up? Here's how to fix common sharing issues:

Wrong Image Displaying

  1. Check image requirements:
  • Minimum size: 200px x 200px
  • Recommended size: 2500px width
  • Must be properly formatted for web display
  1. Refresh Facebook's cache:
  • Visit Facebook's debugger tool
  • Enter your URL and click Debug
  • Click "Scrape Again" if needed
  • Re-post content to see changes

Content Not Pushing to Facebook

  1. Verify your Facebook connection:
  • Open Connected Accounts settings
  • Ensure Facebook is connected
  • Check "Show Push Option" is enabled
  • Select correct Push Target (Page)
  1. If Page isn't showing in Push Target menu:
  • Go to Facebook Business Integrations
  • Select Squarespace
  • Enable "Manage Pages" permissions
  • Save changes

Account Disconnection Issues

To reconnect:

  1. Log out of Facebook
  2. Access Connected Accounts in Squarespace
  3. Disconnect existing Facebook connection
  4. Reconnect account with fresh permissions

Domain Display Problems

If wrong domain shows in posts:

  1. Check primary domain settings
  2. Ensure custom domain is set as primary
  3. Use debugger tool to refresh cache
  4. Re-post content

Common Issues Fixed:

  • Demo text showing: Remove all template demo content
  • Blocked domain: Report to Facebook for review
  • Content not displaying: Verify push target settings
  • Missing images: Ensure proper image dimensions
  • Wrong URL: Set correct primary domain

Note: "Warnings that should be fixed" in Facebook's debugger tool are normal and don't affect functionality.

For personal Facebook profiles: Direct sharing is required as Facebook doesn't allow third-party automatic posting to personal profiles.

If issues persist:

  1. Disconnect and reconnect Facebook account
  2. Clear Facebook's cache using debugger tool
  3. Verify all permissions are correctly set
  4. Contact Facebook support if domain is blocked
