A Blog page can effectively host your podcast on Squarespace, with Audio blocks in blog posts appearing in your RSS feed for listener subscriptions through services like Apple Podcasts.

Before starting, note:

  • RSS feeds must follow Apple Podcasts standards
  • Your first blog post must contain an Audio block
  • Feeds can include up to 300 recent episodes

Setup Process:

  1. Create Your Blog Page
  • Use the Pages panel
  • Click the + icon to add a Blog page
  • Choose a permanent URL slug to avoid syndication issues
  1. Configure Podcast Settings
  • Open Pages panel
  • Click gear icon next to Blog page title
  • Select Feed tab
  • Click Podcasting
  1. Enter Required Details
  • Title and Author
  • Description
  • Episode display order (Episodic or Series)
  • Feed type (Standard or Optimized)
  • Copyright information (optional)
  • Contact details (name and email)
  1. Add Podcast Artwork Requirements:
  • Square .jpg or .png under 512 KB
  • 1400-3000 px × 1400-3000 px
  • RGB color format
  • 72 DPI
  1. Publish First Episode
  • Create blog post with Audio block
  • Only first Audio block per post becomes an episode
  1. Get RSS Feed URL Format: yourblog.squarespace.com/blogname?format=rss

  2. Submit to Apple Podcasts

  • Log in to Podcasts Connect
  • Validate feed
  • Submit for approval
  • Wait for confirmation email

Important Notes:

  • Feed updates occur every 24 hours
  • Multiple podcasts require separate Blog pages
  • Each blog post with Audio block becomes new episode
  • Use predefined .squarespace.com URL for stability
  • Contact email required for some services (Spotify, Stitcher)
  • Website link automatically points to main domain

For multiple podcasts, create separate Blog pages and submit each individually for syndication.
