How to Set Up Domain Nameserver Registration and Glue Records
Learn how to set up and manage nameserver registration (glue records) to host your domain on your own servers. Glue records connect your nameserver's IP address to your TLD's registry.
Requirements
- An existing server setup
- Server administration knowledge
- Desire to host domain on a non-provider managed server
Adding Glue Records
-
Gather required information:
- Server hostname
- IP address (contact your server provider if needed)
-
Add the records:
- Access your domains dashboard
- Navigate to DNS settings
- Select Nameserver Registration
- Click "Add Host Record"
- Enter hostname and IP address
- Click Save
Changes typically take 24-48 hours to propagate. After adding glue records, configure your custom nameservers for your domain.
