Start by logging into your Bluehost account at bluehost.com. Find your domain under My Domains and click Manage.

Prepare Your Domain for Transfer:

1. Verify contact information under the Contact section
2. Unlock your domain in the Security tab
3. Disable domain privacy
4. Request authorization/EPP code from the Security tab

Initiate Transfer in Squarespace:

1. Open Domains panel in your Squarespace site
2. Click "Use a domain you own"
3. Enter your domain name
4. Click Transfer Domain
5. Enter the EPP code from Bluehost

Complete Transfer Details:

1. Review and update registration information
2. Confirm payment details
3. Review order summary (includes 1-year registration fee)
4. Click Confirm and Purchase

Finalize the Transfer:

1. Approve transfer through Bluehost (within 5 days)
2. Monitor transfer status in Squarespace Domains panel
3. Review DNS settings if needed
4. Wait for completion email from [email protected]

Important Notes:

• Transfer takes up to 15 days
• Don't change DNS settings during transfer
• Keep MX records if using custom email
• Domain privacy will automatically reactivate after transfer
• Contact Bluehost support if transfer fails

After Transfer:

1. Cancel Bluehost account if desired
2. Set as primary domain in Squarespace
3. Configure SSL settings
4. Add custom email through Google Workspace if needed
5. Review domain invoice

Troubleshooting:

• If domain shows "locked" error, unlock it in Bluehost
• For authorization code errors, verify and resubmit the code
• Contact Bluehost support if transfer doesn't complete within 15 days
