When sharing content on social media from your site, understanding platform-specific limitations and best practices is crucial for effective distribution.

Platform Restrictions and Capabilities:

Facebook:

  • Can only share to business pages, not personal profiles
  • Limited to 25 accounts in Publishing Targets

LinkedIn:

  • Supports sharing to personal profiles only
  • Manual sharing required for company pages

Pinterest:

  • Requires featured images for blog posts and products
  • Automatically includes post URL
  • Must select a specific board as publishing target

Tumblr:

  • Supports text, image, markdown, quote, and video blocks
  • Image and video blocks show differently in dashboard view

Connecting Social Media Accounts:

  1. Go to Settings > Connected Accounts
  2. Click "Connect an Account"
  3. Enter credentials for chosen platform
  4. Enable content sharing option
  5. Select publishing target (Facebook/Pinterest)
  6. Set default post format
  7. Save settings

Default Post Format Variables:

  • %t: Title
  • %a: Author
  • %u: URL

Publishing Content:

For Blog Posts and Events:

  1. Open item editor
  2. Access Share tab
  3. Toggle desired social profiles
  4. Set status to Published
  5. Save changes

For Products:

  1. Go to Marketing tab
  2. Select Social Media Accounts
  3. Toggle desired platforms
  4. Set visibility to Public
  5. Save changes

Troubleshooting Tips:
