Managing Customer Reviews: A Complete Guide to Product Feedback Automation
Customer reviews allow buyers to rate and review products they've purchased, helping build trust and increase sales. Reviews can be collected for physical products, downloadable items, services, and subscriptions (excluding gift cards).
Customers receive an automated review request email 14 days after order completion. They can:
- Rate products from 1-5 stars
- Write reviews up to 1500 characters
- Review multiple products from the same order separately
- Submit reviews within 120 days of purchase

To customize review emails:
- Access the automation panel
- Select "Request customer reviews"
- Click "Action" then "Edit email"
- Customize content, subject line, and preview text
- Send a test email to verify appearance
Reviews display options:
- Product reviews only: Shows ratings and reviews for specific products
- Store reviews only: Displays all store reviews with product images
- Product and store reviews: Separates reviews into tabs

Review Management Features:
- View all reviews in Customer Reviews panel
- Toggle review visibility between Public and Hidden
- Receive email notifications for new reviews
- Display imported Etsy reviews
- Track review dates, ratings, and customer information
Important Notes:
- Reviews cannot be edited or deleted by customers
- Review requests are not sent for POS purchases
- Reviews remain visible after product edits
- Hidden reviews don't appear on product pages
- Deleting a contact removes their associated reviews
- Cannot export or transfer reviews between sites
- Reviews are limited to one per customer per product
- Subscription renewals don't trigger review requests
- Canceled orders cannot receive reviews
To disable review requests:
- Open automation panel
- Click "..." next to "Request customer reviews"
- Select "Pause"
This will stop future review requests and hide the feature from your store.
