Page titles and page descriptions display differently across version 7.0 templates. Here's a comprehensive overview of how they work and how to use them effectively.

Template Display Guide:

Adirondack:

  • Displays below banner image on events, products, and layout pages
  • Can hide both using "Show page titles & descriptions" tweak

Avenue:

  • Shows on gallery pages when opened from an index
  • Navigation titles appear below thumbnail images on index landing pages

Brine, Farro, Galapagos, Ishimoto, Native, Skye, Wells, Wexley:

  • Don't display titles or descriptions

Bedford:

  • Descriptions overlay banner images on layout pages and content sections
  • Slideshow banners use image descriptions as overlay text

Five:

  • Overlays banner (except album pages)
  • Doesn't display on smartphones
  • Control via "Banner content" tweak

Momentum:

  • Shows on layout, products, blog, and events pages
  • Displays within the index
  • Can hide using "Page title/description" tweak

Montauk:

SEO Considerations:
