Product Analytics Purchase Funnel Report: Track Sales Journey Data
Purchase funnels show how visitors move through your online store, from initial visit to final purchase. This data helps you understand customer behavior and improve conversion rates.
The purchase funnel consists of four key stages:
- Visits - Total number of browsing sessions on your site
- Viewed Product - Number of visits where customers viewed product details
- Added to Cart/Started Checkout - Number of visits where items were added to cart
- Purchased - Number of visits resulting in completed transactions
Between each stage, you'll see conversion percentages showing how many visitors progress to the next step. For example, "60%" between visits and product views means 60% of visitors viewed a product.
Track Performance Changes
A line graph displays funnel performance over time, with different colors representing each stage. This helps identify how changes affect conversions, such as:
- Product merchandising updates
- Pricing or shipping promotions
- Website design modifications
- Special offers and announcements
Understanding Data Nuances
Some data discrepancies may occur due to:
- Late-night browsing sessions crossing midnight
- Different counting methods for cart additions
- Product views only counting from detail pages and quick views
Monitoring your purchase funnel regularly helps identify:
- Where customers drop off
- Which products perform best
- How site changes impact sales
- Opportunities to improve conversion rates
Use this data to make informed decisions about your store's design, pricing, and marketing strategies to optimize the customer journey and increase sales.
