Report Malware in Google Workspace Domains: Security Guide
Managing domains registered through Google Workspace is straightforward when you understand where to handle specific tasks. Here's what you need to know:
Domain Registration Process
When setting up a new Google Workspace account, you can register a domain through Squarespace. This creates a resold domain managed jointly by Google Workspace and Squarespace.
Identifying Your Resold Domain
To check if your domain is resold:
- Access your domains dashboard
- Click the domain name
- Look under the expiration date for the reseller's name

Management Responsibilities
Google Workspace handles:
- Cancellations
- Auto-renewal settings
- Refunds
- Payment information updates
Squarespace manages:
- DNS records
- Domain forwarding
- Contact information
- Nameserver settings
- WHOIS privacy
- Domain suspension issues
- Domain locking/unlocking
- Domain transfers
Initial Squarespace Login Process
- Log out of any existing Squarespace accounts
- Visit squarespace.com/login
- Select "Continue with Google"
- Choose your Google Workspace account
- Access your domains dashboard
Important Domain Verification
- Watch for an email titled "[Action required] Verify your Squarespace domain contact"
- Verify within 15 days to prevent domain suspension
- Verification email goes to the registration contact address
Domain and Website Integration
- You can connect your resold domain to a Squarespace site
- Domain billing remains separate from website billing
- Moving the domain to a Squarespace site isn't possible
Key Considerations
- Domains cannot be transferred to Squarespace from Google Workspace
- Canceling Google Workspace doesn't automatically cancel the domain
- Domain billing continues through Google Workspace even if the Google Workspace account is canceled
- Domain management remains split between Google Workspace (billing) and Squarespace (technical settings)
