Comprehensive Analytics: Maximizing Sales Performance with Squarespace's Sales Panel

Sales data and donations are tracked in the Analytics panel starting from January 2014 and June 2024, respectively. Gift card sales aren't shown in Analytics, though revenue from gift card purchases appears after order submission.

To access sales data:

  1. Open Analytics panel and select Sales
  2. Choose date range from dropdown menu
  3. Filter by sales channel (Website, POS, Third-party platforms, or All Channels)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Revenue

  • Total income from orders and donations
  • Excludes shipping fees and taxes (unless using tax-inclusive pricing)
  • Subtracts discounts but doesn't consider refunds

Purchases

  • Counts completed transactions for:
  • Physical, service-based, and downloadable products
  • Subscription plans
  • Donations
  • Gift card redemptions (First-time subscriptions only, excludes invoices and recurring payments)

Orders

  • Includes all completed orders and recurring subscription/donation instances
  • Each membership renewal counts as single order

Conversion Rate

  • Percentage of visits resulting in purchase
  • Formula: (Purchases ÷ Total Visits) x 100

Average Order Volume (AOV)

  • Revenue per order
  • Formula: Total Revenue ÷ Number of Orders

Revenue Per Visit (RPV)

  • Average revenue per visit
  • Formula: Revenue ÷ Visits
  • Used for marketing ROI calculations

Visualization Tools:

Line Charts

  • Show trends over time
  • Adjustable time scale based on data points
  • Hover feature for specific date information

Bar Charts

  • Source comparison (top referrers)
  • Product comparison (conversion rates and revenue)
  • Adaptable based on selected metrics

Donations appear in the panel with either fund names (new donation block) or block titles (original donation blocks). Untitled donation blocks show without labels.
