A footer is the bottom section of your website that appears on all pages, typically containing essential information like contact details, social media links, and important pages. Here's how to effectively manage your site's footer:

Adding Footer Content

  1. Click Edit on any page
  2. Hover over the footer area and click Edit Footer
  3. Click Add Block to insert content
  4. Click Save when finished

Popular Footer Elements:

  • Text blocks for addresses and copyright
  • Social media icons
  • Newsletter subscription forms
  • Call-to-action buttons

Hiding the Footer

Version 7.1:

  1. Click Edit on any page
  2. Hover over footer area and click Edit Footer
  3. Click the trash can icon to remove
  4. Save changes

To hide on specific pages:

  1. Open Pages panel
  2. Click settings icon next to page title
  3. Select Navigation
  4. Toggle off Show Footer

Pre-footers

Some templates offer a pre-footer section that appears above the main footer. Edit it the same way as the main footer. The pre-footer:

  • Won't display if empty
  • Can have unique styling
  • Allows custom background colors

Mobile Display

  • Version 7.1 with Fluid Engine: Arrange computer and mobile layouts independently
  • Version 7.0: Content stacks automatically using responsive design

Footer Limitations:

  • Cannot create page-specific footers in most templates
  • Footer content doesn't transfer between templates
  • Some templates restrict footer columns to one
  • Cannot move blocks between footers and page content areas

Style your footer by clicking Edit Section or the pencil icon to modify:

  • Layout
  • Background
  • Colors
  • Typography

For advanced customization, use site styles tweaks specific to your template family to control footer visibility and appearance.
