Understanding Visitor Locations with Geographic Analytics

Geographic analysis helps you track where your website visitors come from using an interactive map and detailed statistics. This data is crucial for marketing strategies and understanding your global reach.

Using the Geography Panel

Access geographic data by opening the Analytics panel and selecting Traffic > Geography. Filter results by date range from January 2014 onward to analyze specific marketing campaigns or time periods.

Interactive Map Features:

  • Heat map showing visitor concentration
  • Darker shades indicate higher traffic areas
  • Hover over locations for exact visitor numbers
  • Click to zoom into specific regions

Table Analysis:

  • Updates dynamically with map navigation

Data Limitations

Some visits may appear as "Unknown" when:

  • IP address information is incomplete
  • Location data cannot be determined

Note: Squarespace and Google Analytics may show different geographical data due to varying IP address interpretation methods.
