Blog Setup and Management in Squarespace

Blogs in Squarespace consist of two main components: blog pages (landing pages displaying multiple posts) and individual blog posts. Each blog post has its own dedicated URL, and you can add multiple blog pages to your site.

Adding a Blog Page

1. Open Pages panel
2. Click + icon
3. Select Blog
4. Choose layout (can be changed later)
5. Enter page title
6. Configure page settings (posts per page, SEO, social sharing)

Creating Blog Posts

1. Open blog page
2. Click + in side panel
3. Enter post title (max 200 characters)
4. Add content using text blocks
5. Configure post settings:
   • Featured image
   • Excerpt
   • Tags and categories
   • Comments
   • SEO settings
   • Social sharing

Managing Posts

• Save posts as drafts
• Schedule for future publication
• Set post status (Draft, Published, Scheduled, Needs Review)
• Search and filter posts
• Move posts between blog pages
• Delete unwanted posts

Monetization (Version 7.1)

Add a paywall with two options:

• Blog posts only: Paywall on individual posts
• Blog overview and posts: Paywall on entire blog section

Preview Options:

• Set specific posts as public previews
• No limit on preview post quantity
• Preview badge shows on overview page

Mobile Management

Use the Squarespace app to:

• Create new posts
• Add text and images
• Edit existing posts
• Manage post settings
• Schedule publication

Note: Blog posts use the classic editor; Fluid Engine isn't available for blog posts. XML-RPC clients aren't supported for updates.
