How to Change Your Squarespace Store's Currency Settings
To change your shop currency:
Connect a payment service provider first (Squarespace Payments, Stripe, or PayPal).
Your shop will automatically display the default currency tied to your payment provider. You can only use one currency, which applies to both your shop and donation blocks.
To manually change currency:
- Open "Shop Payments" menu
- Click "Shop Currency"
- Choose from available currencies
- Click Save
Important notes:
- Currency availability depends on your connected payment provider's bank account
- If using multiple payment providers (like PayPal + Stripe), the currency must be supported by all providers
- Currency can't be changed after selling gift cards, even test orders
- Currency formatting follows your website's language settings
Best practice: Use the currency matching your payment provider's bank account to avoid exchange fees.
For multiple currency display: Add alternative prices using the Additional Product Information feature.
Supported currencies vary by region and payment provider. Check your provider's documentation for specific currency availability.
Remember: Once you've sold gift cards, you cannot change your shop's currency, so choose carefully from the start.
