To connect your 1&1 IONOS domain to Squarespace, follow these steps:

1. Begin in Squarespace:

• Go to Domains panel
• Click "Use a domain I own"
• Enter your domain name
• Click "Connect domain"
• Select "Other" from dropdown
• Click "Continue"
• Keep the DNS settings panel open for reference

2. Access 1&1 IONOS:

• Log into your IONOS account
• Find your domain
• Click "Actions" then "DNS"

3. Delete Existing Records:

• Set filter to "Show all records"
• Remove all AAAA and A records
• Confirm deletions

4. Add First CNAME Record:

• Click "Add record" > "CNAME"
• Hostname: [paste unique code from Squarespace]
• Points to: verify.squarespace.com
• TTL: 1 hour
• Save

5. Add Second CNAME Record:

• Click "Add record" > "CNAME"
• Hostname: www
• Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com
• TTL: 1 hour
