Duplicating a Squarespace website creates an exact copy of your site's content and design. Here's everything you need to know about the process, limitations, and what gets copied.

Limitations:

• Maximum 100 pages per site
• Not available for developer platform sites
• Cannot duplicate placeholder pages
• No set cover page subscriptions
• No Acuity Scheduling appointment pages

Important Notes:

• Duplicating doesn't affect the original website
• Changes to the copy won't sync with the original
• New copy starts with a free trial

How to Duplicate a Website:

1. Access your account dashboard
2. Click "..." next to the website you want to duplicate
3. Select "Duplicate Site"
4. Wait for the process to complete (time varies by site size)

What Gets Copied:

• Pages, sections, layouts, and blocks
• Code injections
• Collection items
• Site title and logo
• Language and regional settings
• Style settings
• Template
• Text content
• Simple authors (permissions only)

What Doesn't Transfer:

• Domain subscriptions
• Email campaigns
• Audio files

• Deleted content

Member Sites:

• Member sites are disabled on the duplicate
• Member pages move to "Not linked" section
• To restore member sites:
  1. Purchase appropriate subscription
  2. Activate member sites
  3. Move pages from "Not linked" to "Member Sites" section

URL Management:

• Collection content gets modified URL slugs
• Update URLs manually to match original if desired
• Simple authors need manual reassignment to collection content
