How to Import Products from Etsy, Shopify, and Big Cartel to Squarespace

Products can be imported from Etsy, Shopify, and Big Cartel to Squarespace through a one-time import process. Here's what you need to know:

Import Limits

  • Version 7.1: Up to 10,000 physical and service products per store page
  • Version 7.0: Up to 200 products per store page
  • Each product can have up to 100 variants

What Gets Imported:

Etsy Imports:

  • Description
  • Images
  • Inventory
  • Price
  • Shipping sizes
  • Title

Note: Ensure Etsy's vacation mode is off for importing active and sold-out products.

Shopify Imports:

  • Description
  • Images
  • Price
  • SKU
  • Title
  • Variations
  • Weight

Big Cartel Imports:

  • Description
  • Price
  • Product Name
  • Images

Import Process:

From Etsy:

  1. Open Products panel and click Import
  2. Select Etsy and Get Started
  3. Choose store page
  4. Start Import
  5. Log in to Etsy
  6. Grant Access

From Shopify:

  1. Download inventory .csv from Shopify
  2. Open Products panel and click Import
  3. Select Shopify
  4. Upload .csv file
  5. Click Import

From Big Cartel:

  1. Open Products panel and click Import
  2. Select Big Cartel
  3. Enter complete Big Cartel URL
  4. Click Import

Important Notes:

  • This is a one-time import; inventories won't sync automatically
  • Downloadable products cannot be imported
  • Imported products appear on a new store page in the Unlinked section
  • Store currencies must match for proper price importing

After Importing:

  1. Check store setup completion
  2. Review imported products
  3. Add tags and categories if needed
  4. Set up shipping profiles
  5. Create discount codes for existing gift cards
  6. Consider adding product reviews
