How to Merge Multiple Squarespace Accounts: Step-by-Step Guide
To merge Squarespace accounts, you'll need to manually consolidate your websites and domains under a single login. Here's how to do it effectively:
Choose Your Primary Account
- Select the email address or social media account you want to use as your main login
- This will be your "Primary Account," while the other becomes your "Secondary Account"
Basic Account Merging Steps:
- Log into Secondary Account
- From the dashboard, locate all websites and subscriptions
- Invite your Primary Account email as an editor for each site
- Accept invitations using Primary Account (use incognito browser)
- Transfer ownership of all websites and associated subscriptions to Primary Account
For Unlinked Domains:
- Create a new trial website
- Add payment information
- Contact Squarespace support to move domain to trial site
- Invite Primary Account as editor
- Transfer ownership to Primary Account
For Linked Domains:
- Log into Primary Account
- Add Secondary Account as editor with admin rights
- Accept invitation from Secondary Account
- Move domain to website while in Secondary Account
Final Steps:
- Remove Secondary Account as editor (optional)
- Request permanent deletion of Secondary Account (if desired)
Post-Merge Tasks:
- Update domain contact information
- Review form and newsletter block storage settings
- Verify all subscriptions transferred correctly
Note: There's currently no automatic way to merge accounts. Follow these steps carefully to ensure all your sites and domains transfer successfully.
