To share URLs from your site effectively, follow these proven methods for different content types.

Finding Shareable URLs

For Navigation Menu Pages:

  1. Open an incognito/private browser window
  2. Visit your site without logging in
  3. Navigate to the desired page
  4. Copy the URL from the address bar

For Hidden (Not Linked) Pages:

  1. Log into your site
  2. Visit the target page
  3. Click the arrow in top-left corner for full preview
  4. Copy the URL from address bar

Important: Never share URLs containing "squarespace.com/config" as these require login credentials.

Custom Domain URLs

If using a custom domain, modify the URL before sharing:

  • From:
    https://built-in-domain.squarespace.com/blog
  • To:
    https://customdomain.com/blog

Special URL Cases

Homepage Blog Posts:

  • Standard URL:
    example.com/blog/post-title
  • When blog is homepage:
    example.com/post-title

Homepage Portfolio Pages:

  • Standard URL:
    example.com/portfolio/sub-page-title
  • When portfolio is homepage:
    example.com/sub-page-title

Index Pages:

  • Share either the index page URL or individual page URLs
  • Both options work for visitor access

Image and File Sharing

To share images or files:

  • Share the page URL containing the content
  • Don't use direct image URLs (starting with images.squarespace-cdn.com)

Social Media Integration

For automatic social sharing:

  1. Set up social media integration
  2. Enable auto-sharing for new content
  3. Configure sharing settings per collection

Best Practices:

  • Always verify URLs before sharing
  • Test links in incognito mode
  • Consider setting a social sharing logo
  • Use proper URL slugs for better organization

Note: Newsletter blocks cannot be directly linked to from external sources.
