Direct shoppers to your domain's secure checkout page for a seamless shopping experience. When enabled, customers will see your domain in the URL (like https://yourdomain.com/checkout) instead of the default secure.squarespace.com checkout page.

Automatic Enablement Conditions:

  • Having a custom domain or subdomain
  • SSL enabled and set to [Secure]

For sites without custom domains, checkout URLs will show as https://youraccountid.squarespace.com/checkout.

Verifying Checkout Status:

  1. Access checkout settings
  2. Open [Checkout] panel
  3. Confirm [Checkout on Domain] is checked
  4. Verify custom domain appears (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/checkout)

Troubleshooting Tips:

If Custom Domain Isn't Showing:

  • Test in an incognito window for accurate preview
  • Check checkout settings panel
  • Verify [Checkout URL] shows your custom domain
  • Review requirements under [Checkout Using My Domain]

SSL Security Setup:

  1. Open [Developer Tools]
  2. Select [SSL]
  3. Choose [Secure (Recommended)] under Security Settings

Common Issues:

  • 404 errors after checkout usually occur when site is set to [Private]
  • Fix by changing site visibility to [Public]
  • Orders still process successfully despite 404 errors

Note: For embedded domains, checkout will use youraccountid.squarespace.com format until a custom domain is configured.
