Managing Media Resources
Images and videos uploaded to your site are stored in the Resource Library for easy reuse across your site. Here's how to effectively manage and reuse these resources:
Reusable Image Locations:
- Banner images
- Blog posts, events, and page featured images
- Email campaigns
- Image and gallery blocks/sections
- Product images
- Mobile fallback images for video backgrounds
- Site logos (version 7.1)
Video Usage:
- Video blocks
- Section backgrounds
- Course pages
- Video pages
Accessing Saved Resources:
- Choose "Select from library" or "Search images" when adding media
- Use the Resources panel to view all uploaded content
- Preview details by hovering over items and clicking the three dots
Managing Resources:
To Add Content:
- Open Resources panel
- Drag files or click "Add new" → "Upload files"
- Select files to upload
To Organize Content:
- Create folders via "Add new" → "Folder"
- Move items by selecting them and using the folder icon
- Create up to 40 levels of nested folders
To Rename Resources:
- Hover over item
- Click "..." → "Rename"
- Enter new name
- Click Save
Deleting and Restoring:
- Deleted items remain in trash for 30 days
- Restore from trash by selecting items and clicking "Restore"
- Empty trash to permanently delete
Important Notes:
- Stock images appear only in the site where purchased
- Edited images save as new copies
- File names serve as alt text in most areas
- Keep original files on your computer as backup
- Getty Images licenses are site-specific
For Squarespace App Users:
- Access Home tab
- Tap "+" → "Upload resources to library"
- Select images to import
- Note: Video uploads not supported in app
