To add a dropdown menu to your site's navigation:

1. Create a Dropdown

• Open the Pages panel and click the + icon
• Select Dropdown
• Enter a title for your dropdown menu

2. Add Pages to Your Dropdown

• Drag existing pages into the dropdown
• Click "Add Page" to create new pages
• Reorder pages by dragging them within the dropdown
• Note: You cannot nest dropdowns within dropdowns

3. Display Behavior (Version 7.1)

• Hover over dropdown title to display menu items
• Clicking the title doesn't open the first page
• On mobile, dropdowns collapse and open with a tap

4. Background Color Options

Solid Header:

• Uses header background color or site-wide section background
• Customize via Edit Header > Edit Design > Colors

Gradient Header:

• Uses header background color settings
• Adjust through Edit Header > Edit Design > Colors

Adaptive Header:

• Follows first section's theme colors
• Modify in site styles under Colors

5. Remove a Dropdown

On Desktop:

• Hover over dropdown in Pages panel
• Click trash can icon
• Confirm deletion

In Squarespace App:

• Tap More > Pages
• Select dropdown
• Tap trash can icon (7.1) or swipe left (7.0)
• Confirm deletion

Important Notes:

• Dropdowns can't contain index pages
• Accessing a dropdown URL redirects to its first page
• Product categories create separate navigation in store pages
• Version 7.1 supports nested product subcategories
