Squarespace Site Privacy: How to Check and Control Your Site's Visibility Status
Your site's visibility in Squarespace is determined by its subscription status and availability settings. Here's what you need to know:
Trial Sites
- Private by default
- Only accessible to owner and collaborators
- Hidden from search engines
- Can be password-protected for specific visitors
- Visitors need direct link or connected third-party domain
Paid Sites
- Can be public or private based on settings
- Check status: Settings > Site Availability
- Site is active when set to "Public"
Online Store Activation
- Requires linked payment processor
- Without payment processor, checkout shows "disabled" message
- Store becomes fully functional once payment processor is connected
Publishing Changes Changes requiring manual save to be visible:
- Layout Page modifications
- Blog posts, events, and products edits
