How to Duplicate Content in Squarespace: Complete Guide

Duplicating helps create new content from existing pages, sections, blocks, posts, products, events, or videos. All copies maintain the original's blocks, layout, images, and settings.

Page Duplication Basics:

  • Copies include "(Copy)" in titles
  • URL slugs add numbers (7.1) or "copy" (7.0) to originals
  • Collection items get random characters added to URLs

How to Duplicate Pages:

  1. Open Pages panel
  2. Hover over page and click settings
  3. Select "Duplicate Page"
  4. Click Confirm

Duplicating Different Elements:

Sections:

  • Hover over section while editing
  • Click duplicate icon
  • Copy appears below original

Blocks:

  • Click to highlight block
  • Use duplicate icon or Command/Control + D
  • Or copy/paste with Command/Control + C/V

Multiple Blocks:

  • Click and drag to select
  • Use duplicate icon or shortcuts
  • Command/Control + A selects all blocks

Collection Items Duplication:

Blog Posts:

  • Navigate to blog page
  • Click ... menu on post
  • Select Duplicate

Products:

  • Open store page
  • Double-click product
  • Click duplicate icon
  • Note: Duplicates get new SKUs and inventory

Events:

  • Go to events page
  • Click ... menu
  • Select Duplicate

What Can't Be Duplicated:

  • Info pages
  • Pre-built layouts
  • Index pages (duplicate contents separately)
  • Portfolio sub-pages (between portfolio pages)

Note: Newsletter and form blocks need manual storage connection after duplication.
