Squarespace Site Title Setup: How to Edit & Customize Your Website Name
A site title represents your brand identity online - whether it's your name, business name, or blog name. It appears in your site's header and can be replaced with a logo.
Editing Your Site Title (Version 7.1):
- Click Edit at the top left of site preview
- Hover over header and click Edit Site Header
- Click the site title/logo, then click pencil icon
- Enter your site title (max 120 characters)
- Click Save to preserve changes
For Version 7.0:
- Open Design panel and click Logo and Title
- Update Site Title field
- Add an optional tagline
- Save changes to publish
Using the Squarespace App:
- Tap More > Design
- Select Logo and Title
- Edit title and save
Display Customization:
- Adjust position through header layout settings
- Modify font style and size in Site Styles panel
- Change colors using site-level or section-specific controls
- Clicking the title always redirects to homepage
Logo Implementation:
- Upload a logo to replace text title
- Keep text in Site Title field for alt text
- Logo appears in same position as text title
- Some templates show text title on mobile devices
SEO Considerations:
- Configure SEO title format for search results and browser tabs
- Can differ from displayed site title for optimization
- Useful when using logo or adding keywords
- Submit changes to Google Search Console for re-indexing
Important Notes:
- Avoid using angle brackets in titles
- Title length should not exceed 120 characters
- Custom redirect functionality requires custom code (unsupported)
